Job summary

National College Resources Foundation is seeking energetic, dependable individuals to support our STEAM program for middle and high school students. This part-time role offers hands-on learning experiences, project work, and mentorship opportunities in education and youth development.

Office locations include Walnut, CA, with camp sites in Long Beach and Pomona. Flexible weekday hours during summer camps, approx 20–25 hours per week, and compensation of $19–$23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Passion for education, youth empowerment, and STEAM fields.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, adaptable, and able to work in fast-paced environments.
• Comfortable working with middle and high school students.
• Ability to take initiative and follow directions independently.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup, facilitation, and breakdown of STEAM activities
• Support instructors and students during workshops, demonstrations, and group projects
• Help manage daily logistics, including attendance, supplies, and classroom organization
• Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all participants
• Document student experiences through photos, videos, and written reflections
• Encourage student engagement and participation during activities and team challenges
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and program evaluations
• Contribute creative ideas for activities, student engagement, and improvements

This role is ideal for college students or emerging professionals interested in education, youth development, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) programming. It offers hands‑on experience assisting with engaging educational activities designed to inspire underserved and underrepresented middle and high school students through interactive learning experiences, team projects, and mentorship.
