Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking an Art and Technology Instructor to lead STEAM activities for ages 5-12, across CPS schools and YMCA Hubs. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons and supervise youth in a safe, inclusive environment.

The role requires 2+ years in youth programs, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and ability to travel between sites. CPR/First Aid preferred; travel to CPS schools, participate in program evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Recreation, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of youth program experience.
• Experience in STEAM education preferred.
• Ability to travel to CPS schools and YMCA Hubs.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements STEAM programs in accordance with YMCA goals.
• Coordinates activities which are culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate.
• Teaches fundamentals of specialty program areas by age and skill level.
• Supervises youth to ensure health, safety, and positive experience.
• Communicates with and maintains positive relationships with parents/guardians.
• Ensures all equipment is maintained.
• Follows YMCA policies, including medical, abuse prevention, and emergency procedures.
• Supports the mission and values of the YMCA and the STEAM portfolio.
