Job summary

Brains & Motion Education is seeking an energetic After School - Youth Program Instructor to lead hands-on STEAM projects, creative art, and active games for K-8 students after school in Chicago.

You will facilitate structured activities, provide daily homework support, supervise safety, and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that keeps students engaged and active.

Position is part-time, pays $20.00 per hour, with weekday afternoons 2:30 PM–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of practical experience in STEM, creative arts, or athletic programs.
• Genuine desire to teach, motivate, and empower young learners.
• Ability to engage with and support elementary and middle school students (Grades K-8).
• Strong classroom leadership and group-management skills.
• Consistent weekday afternoon availability between 2:30 PM and 6:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured STEAM experiments, creative art projects, and active sports/recreational games.
• Facilitate daily homework sessions and assist students with assignments.
• Maintain active supervision and foster a safe, inclusive atmosphere for K–8 students.
• Direct outdoor recess and guided play to keep students energized and engaged.
• Prepare, transport, set up, and clean up program materials and equipment.
