Job summary

The Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy (the Academy) is seeking a YBA Classroom Coordinator in Washington, DC. The role focuses on planning daily logistics, leading instructional time, and developing math/STEAM activities for Scholar Athletes.

You will supervise volunteers and support mentoring, enrichment, and mealtime, ensuring engaging learning experiences for youth. Expect to attend meetings after school, work 1:00pm–7:30pm Tue–Thu during the school year, and 8:00am–4:00pm during

Qualifications

• Ability to manage the classroom setting and provide support for assignments and lessons in STEAM for students in grades three through eight.
• Commitment to working with youth and families in an under resourced community; belief that all students can achieve at high levels.
• Demonstrate leadership and motivational skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily planning meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Lead classroom instruction, administer academic assessments, provide homework support, and record attendance daily.
• Provide support and/or leadership during mentoring time, enrichment, mealtime, gathering time, field trips, and rainy day/cold weather activities.
• Maintain an organized classroom setting and oversee transitions from classrooms to the field for Scholar Athletes and other learning activities.
• Manage volunteers and coaches with respect to instructional/academic activities.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other program staff for daily logistics.
