The College was established by referendum in 1965 and openedSeptember 1967. It is named for Dr. William Rainey Harper, apioneer in the junior college movement in the United States and thefirst president of the University of Chicago.

QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required;previous experience teaching at least 30 semester hours ofundergraduate or graduate mathematics required; knowledge of TIgraphing calculators, and familiarity with instructional technologypreferred.

The Academic Support Center provides assistance in the anatomyroom, developmental math canter, success services for students,supplemental instruction, tutoring center and writing center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties of Position:
Tutor higher level Statistics and Mathematics, includingstatistics, probability, and several levels of calculus.
Demonstrate subject proficiency
Assist students in understanding subject material
Know basic study techniques
Maintain records of students tutored
Other duties as assigned.
