Job summary

Harper College is seeking a part-time Mathematics Tutor to support students in the Academic Support Center. You will tutor statistics, calculus, and related courses, helping students understand concepts and develop study strategies.

In this role you will demonstrate subject proficiency, maintain tutoring records, and collaborate with staff to provide additional learning resources. A Bachelor's Degree and college teaching experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; previous experience teaching at least 30 semester hours of undergraduate or graduate mathematics required.
• Knowledge of TI graphing calculators and familiarity with instructional technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tutor higher level Statistics and Mathematics, including statistics, probability, and several levels of calculus.
• Demonstrate subject proficiency.
• Assist students in understanding subject material.
• Know basic study techniques.
• Maintain records of students tutored.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Academic Support Center provides assistance in the anatomy room, developmental math center, success services for students, supplemental instruction, tutoring center and writing center.
