Description

Maintains and operates the university's high-pressure boilersand steam lines. Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No.GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access tocritical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain thesecurity or integrity of the University infrastructure. Thisposition requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determinewhether or not criminal history or continuous connections for thegovernment or political apparatus of a foreign adversary mightprevent the employee from being able to maintain the security orintegrity of the infrastructure.

1. Starts and stops plant equipment, such as chillers, boilers,and pumps.


2. Monitors control systems and reviews logs; adjusts operationsto run within defined parameters.


3. Performs preventative maintenance on cooling towers,chillers, boilers, pumps, valves, and air compressors.


4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Department is willing to accept education in lieu ofexperience.

MQ

MQ: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuationand simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. asmight normally be acquired through attainment of a high schooldiploma or GED.

Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-relatedexperience. Requires technical certification or licensing directlyrelated to the job, as specified on a job description addendum.
