An established industry player is seeking a Building Automation Engineer to join their Maintenance team. This pivotal role involves ensuring the proper function of complex building automation systems, executing work orders, and performing preventive maintenance. A Building Automation Engineer, also known as HVAC Controls Tech, Project Engineer, or Controls Engineer, works directly on the Maintenance team to ensure the proper function of complex building automation systems. This role involves executing Work Orders, preventive Maintenance tasks, ordering components, and coordinating with technicians and sub-contractors on-site.
The engineer leads, directs, and teaches BAS system operators, providing solutions to system problems, troubleshooting, or advising others on resolution methods.
Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing routine electronic control system malfunctions, managing assigned work to meet standards of professionalism, timeliness, and customer satisfaction. Immediate reporting of problems or changes to management is required.
The role also involves troubleshooting software coding, making necessary enhancements for reliable operations, performing preventive maintenance inspections, calibrating machine controls, and recording and reporting damaged or worn parts. Identifying causes of unexpected breakdowns, preparing reports on work performed, and maintaining shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies are essential duties.
Coordination with managers for scheduled maintenance, collaboration with project managers on new products and modifications, and performing other duties as assigned are part of the job. The candidate must be willing to work the 3rd shift.
