Location: Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport Consolidated Rental Car Facility 600 Rental Blvd, Kenner, Louisiana
Reports To: Facility Manager
Job Description: The Stationary Engineer 2nd Class is responsible for the safe operation, preventative maintenance, and repairs, and maintenance of a wide range of equipment in the facility, including the Ready Return and Customer Service Building (CSB).
Shift and Hours: Part-Time 10:30pm-6:30am on Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday
Qualifications and Experience:
MUST HAVE A 2ND CLASS STATIONARY ENGINEER LICENSE TO BE CONSIDERED
- 2-3 years of verifiable experience as a Stationary Engineer 2nd Class with an active Stationary Engineer License
- Ability to complete inspections in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with various types of equipment
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, endure long periods on your feet, be able to bend, reach, etc.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Inspections:
- Inspection of equipment including but not limited to generators, motors, air conditioning systems, heat exchangers, auxiliary equipment such as escalators and elevators,etc.
- Visually inspect all equipment to detect malfunctions and/or need for repair, adjustment, and lubrication
- Check plumbing for any leaks, loose faucets, or broken pipes within the parking garage, CSB, restrooms, etc.
- Check operations of the spike system and gate arms at all locations within the ready return and maintain records of repairs and maintenance
- Check electrical panels for secured and any trip breakers within the CSB and ready return
- Check the generator panel for any errors that may occur and check the operation of generator every Monday morning and complete weekly inspections form
- Check light bulbs in the ready return, CSB, and landscape light fixtures for any damaged or burnt-out light bulbs and replace as needed
- Check all automatic doors on all levels of the CSB to ensure they are operational
- Complete additional inspections as requested by the Facility Manager to assist in the operations of the CONRAC, including building and roof inspections
- Technical/Mechanical:
- Replace HVAC filters and clean HVAC coils when needed
- Check operations and perform preventative maintenance on all air conditioning units and maintain records of repair and maintenance
- Maintain all safety devices on all equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Maintain all utilities within the CSB and parking garage including lighting, gate operations, etc.
- Monitor water levels and water pressure for all fire suppression systems within the CSB and parking garage
- Maintain all plumbing fixtures in the CSB including, but not limited to sinks, toilets, urinals
- Check fire suppression system for pressure and water leaks within the CSB and maintain records of all readings and maintenance
- Check and test fire alarm systems in CSB after notifying AVCOM that a test will be performed
- Check the Annunciator Systems in the CSB to ensure it is operating properly
- Assist with diagnosing issues and repairing equipment
- Administration:
- Record data from machinery equipment, adjust controls
- Maintain records of daily operations of equipment, record readings from meters, gauges, and/or automatic recording devices in the CMMS
- Complete and pass OSHA online training
- Report any incidents or injuries immediately and fill out proper documentation
- Other Activities:
- Check soap dispensers in restrooms to ensure that they are operational
- Assist with landscaping projects including mowing, planting, trimming, etc.
- Assist with facility painting projects, caulking projects, and pressure washing projects, when needed
- Assist with debris pick up
- Assist with wheelchair transportation, when needed
- Additional Functions:
- Ability to assist with a rotational schedule to ensure stationary engineers are on site 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, when needed
- May be asked to stay onsite or at hotel across from the facility during inclement weather
- Ability to perform other duties, as necessary, to meet client requests and to maintain and improve operations
