The Position
The Stationary Engineer's primary role is to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across all building systems. The Stationary Engineer must be familiar with and demonstrate technical expertise in building mechanical systems such as low-pressure boiler Systems, Chillers, Plumbing, Fire Safety Systems, Electrical, Carpentry, and other building components. This is a union position with the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) of Chicago, Illinois, and vicinity Local 399.

The typical work schedule for this position is 40 hours per week: Wednesday 2:30-10:30 pm and Thursday-Sunday 10:30 am-6:30 pm. Days off are Monday and Tuesday, and flextime options are available.
The pay rate for this position is $43.00/hr, as determined by the collective bargaining agreement.
Must react well under pressure, multitask, and troubleshoot issues efficiently. Familiar with building automation systems, life systems, and evacuation procedures. Respond to all emergencies calmly and systematically. Good time management, a team player, and a good listener. Able to follow through with proven results.
