Job summary

Hitachi Global Air Power US, LLC in Michigan City, Indiana is seeking an assembler to perform frame, piping, wiring, and component assembly across multiple workstations. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and requires adherence to Work Center Instructions and BOM.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years of manufacturing assembly experience, basic computer and reading skills, and the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent and a minimum of two years year post high school training/experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ previous manufacturing assembly required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Basic reading skills necessary to perform the functions of the job.
• Mechanical assembly ability, ability to read simple blueprints, wiring diagrams/drawings preferred.
• Prior forklift experience or completion of forklift training preferred.
• Working with various hand and pneumatic tools and various measuring tools.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of basic electricity and wiring diagrams/drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assemble compressors and components per BOM, WCI, P&I, and drawings.
• Install tubing, fittings and insulation as required.
• Inspect finished machines and ensure proper alignment and wiring.
• Operate and test electrical controls per instructions.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and stock materials as needed.
