Job summary

Pilgrim’s is hiring a Station Mechanic in Minnesota to support the maintenance department on plant equipment and facilities. You’ll perform repairs, PMs, and safety-conscious tasks, coordinating with other teams and using electrical testing tools.

The role requires basic math, English proficiency, and at least two years of maintenance experience. Weekend availability and strong mechanical aptitude are important, with benefits and a structured pay rate of $27.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to perform basic math: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to pass Prove It Test.
• Two years’ maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in operating maintenance power tools.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical procedures.
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed.

Station Mechanic

The Station Mechanic is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
• Maintains accurate communication to other mechanic and departments.
• Effectively uses electrical testing equipment.
• Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person.
• Initiates and conducts routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision.
• Maintain shop 5s policies and cleanliness.
• Other duties as required.

What You’ll Need

• Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skill including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to pass Prove It Test
• Two years’ experience in maintenance field preferred
• Have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools
