Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Seattle is seeking a Station Manager to oversee all aspects of a busy logistics operation, including sales, freight forwarding, customer service, customs clearance, and billing. You will be held accountable for the operation's profitability.

Lead a team of freight forwarding professionals, drive KPIs, manage budgets, and ensure cost-effective service delivery while maintaining strong client relationships and compliance with DHL policies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in freight forwarding.
• 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Import/export experience is required; both preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a strong team of freight forwarding professionals.
• Negotiate with external suppliers to ensure cost efficiency.
• Manage service quality and monitor customer satisfaction with key accounts.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets; set and meet performance targets.
• Ensure consistent customer service through process-driven operations.
• Negotiate buying rate quotations with carriers.
• Oversee invoicing, bills of lading, and currency conversions.
• Establish and enforce station operation policies and standards.
• Hire, coach, and develop direct reports.
• Assign work, set deadlines, and manage performance per policy.
