Job summary

Envirotest, a subsidiary of Opus Inspection, seeks a Station Manager to oversee daily emissions-station operations in Maryland. You will ensure policy compliance, lead staff, manage schedules, and uphold safety and customer-service standards to deliver efficient inspections.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of emission stations to ensure compliance with policies and performance standards.
  • Interview, hire, onboard, and train new employees with ongoing coaching.
  • Supervise and assign tasks to staff to optimize station efficiency.
  • Create employee schedules based on forecasted customer traffic and needs.
  • Ensure emission inspections are accurate and efficient to minimize wait times.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly operation reports.
  • Manage inventory of station supplies.
  • Coordinate facility maintenance and upkeep.
  • Lead the station’s Safety Program to protect staff and customers.
  • Complete administrative paperwork related to operations and finances.
  • Conduct emissions tests as needed to maintain compliance with wait-time expectations.
  • Additional duties as assigned by District or Operations Manager.

Job description

Our Station Manager oversees the daily operations of our emissions station while creating a safe and customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day operations of emission stations to ensure compliance with Envirotest’s policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Interview, hire, onboard, and assist with the training of new employees, giving continuous coaching, feedback, and support.
  • Supervise and assign tasks to employees to ensure the efficiency of the station.
  • Create employee schedules to ensure proper staffing for station based on forecasted customer traffic and operational needs.
  • Ensure emission inspections are conducted accurately and efficiently to minimize customer wait times.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly operation activities.
  • Manage inventory of supplies around the station.
  • Coordinate facility maintenance, including groundskeeping, snow removal, janitorial upkeep and painting.
  • Promote a culture of safety by leading the station’s Safety Program to ensure the safety of both employees and customers.
  • Complete administrative paperwork related to station’s operations and finances
  • Conduct emissions tests as needed to maintain compliance with customer wait time expectations.
  • Additional duties as assigned by District or Operations Manager.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field is desirable
  • Previous customer service and cash-handling experience required
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent organization skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to express and exchange ideas verbally and in writing
Physical Demands
  • Ability to enter and exit vehicles, 50-80% of the time
  • Frequent standing, bending, reaching, pulling and stooping, up to 90% of the time
  • Ability to withstand exposure to extreme heat and cold weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs
