Job summary

Amtrak in Washington is seeking a passenger service associate to deliver superior customer service from behind the ticket counter and on the station floor or platform. You will greet passengers, assist with luggage, issue tickets, and help with schedules, fares, and boarding information while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

The role requires strong communication, physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and ability to operate ticketing equipment.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with baggage & express operation.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist passengers at the ticket counter and on the platform.
  • Help passengers with needs, luggage, and boarding trains.
  • Prepare ticket reports and safeguard company funds; related reports.
  • Maintain ticket printers and Quik-Trak machines; keep information racks stocked.
  • Perform clerical tasks and station duties as needed.
  • Provide schedules, fares, routes, and city highlights to passengers.
  • Ensure timely boarding and verify tickets and travel documents; enforce baggage rules.
  • Perform janitorial duties in station areas.
  • Handle checked baggage and package express.
