Job summary

Amtrak in Washington, DC is seeking a receptionist and passenger service representative. The role covers duties of the assignment and other tasks as directed by a supervisor.

You will know train schedules, assist passengers with fare information, and answer phones while upholding Amtrak policies and customer service standards. This position requires a High School diploma and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Knowledge of operating POS systems.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must wear uniform.

Responsibilities

  • Know train schedules/routings/fare and connecting points.
  • Serve as receptionist when directed and project a courteous attitude.
  • Assist passengers with fare information, accommodations, commuter rates/schedules, and special service requests; answer phones; type; use two-way radio.
  • Create reports and train manifests in ARROW System; communicate service requests.
  • Conform to Amtrak uniform policy, safety program and Rules of Conduct.
