Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a Maintenance and Construction Superintendent - SES Statewide to lead statewide facilities maintenance, construction projects, and supervisory teams across correctional institutions. The role requires coordinating repairs, ensuring safety, and managing budgets and procurement for maintenance programs.

The position is not a telework role and requires reporting to the FDC office serving its area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 9 years of relevant maintenance/construction experience.
• Technical Certification or college degree may substitute 1 year per year of experience up to 4 years.
• Experience in electronics, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or construction.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate maintenance repairs, preventive activities, and work assignments.
• Inspect buildings and equipment, advising on maintenance and construction needs.
• Ensure proper custody and security measures for maintenance and construction squads.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare budgets, and manage procurement of materials.
• Prepare reports and effectively communicate, plan, organize, and supervise maintenance programs.
