Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a statewide Environmental Program expert to oversee forestry, prescribed fire, and wildland fire management. The role serves as the primary contact for forestry and fire environmental issues across NCARNG facilities and federal/state agencies, reporting to the Environmental Management Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in agricultural, biological, environmental, or natural resource sciences, or closely related field, or equivalent education/experience.
• Knowledge or experience with Federal or State environmental laws, regulations, and policies is preferred.
• Experience planning and coordinating with Federal or State agencies on forestry and fire management matters is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the organizational expert regarding forestry and fire management for a statewide Environmental Program.
• Perform professional, multidisciplinary work in forestry, prescribed fire, and wildland fire management.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for forestry and fire environmental issues involving NCARNG facilities statewide, National Guard Bureau, and other Federal and state agencies.
• Report to the Director of Environmental Management.
• Manage Natural Resources, ITAM, Invasive Species, Forestry Management Plan, Integrated Wildland Fire Management Plan, Prescribed Fire, and Fire Training activities.
• Conduct independent research and data accumulation for regulatory protocols and environmental management issues.
• Analyze complex regulatory issues.
• Identify and resolve problems.
• Make decisions while coordinating multiple personnel and agencies.
