Job summary

Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) seeks an experienced emergency management professional to lead statewide disaster recovery planning and coordinate interagency recovery efforts. The role supports planning initiatives, assists community recovery groups, and liaises with emergency management partners across the state.

Qualifications

• Seven years of full-time work experience in administration, operation, or enforcement of program guidelines/policies.
• One year of related experience required plus higher education/graduate credits as detailed in the posting.
• Graduation from an accredited school of law is required.
• Current, continuous experience in state government with related program planning exposure.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead and subject matter expert for the State Recovery Plan.
• Oversee and coordinate state-level interagency planning activities for recovery.
• Lead standup and coordination of State Recovery Task Force(s).
• Provide planning technical assistance to Recovery Support Function activities.
• Advise leadership on recovery planning and implementation.
