We have an exciting opportunity for a hybrid role, blending a Learning & Development Trainer position and a Health & Safety Advisor.

About the Role

As a State Trainer and H&S Advisor, you will support operational excellence by developing our team's capability and promoting a proactive safety culture. This role involves designing and delivering training programs, overseeing H&S compliance, conducting safety audits, investigations, and risk assessments, working closely with site and leadership teams to embed safety and training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety & Compliance: Ensure site operations meet all relevant H&S legislation and guidelines; conduct incident inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments; implement corrective actions; oversee PPE and signage; support compliance with Chain of Responsibility and Dangerous Goods requirements; assist during external audits.

Additional Responsibilities

• Training & Onboarding: Facilitate classroom learning, site inductions, operational training; mentor and assess team competency; develop leadership pipeline; deliver high-risk work training; maintain training records.
• Culture & Engagement: Promote a positive safety culture; engage with team leaders and frontline staff to encourage safe behaviors and hazard reporting; provide coaching and feedback.
• Reporting & Administration: Support process improvements; maintain compliance records; prepare performance and audit reports.
• Planning & Collaboration: Align training and safety initiatives with business needs; collaborate with peers and leadership to share best practices.

About You

To succeed, you should have:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Preferred qualifications include:

• 2-3 years' experience in WHS or training coordination within warehousing, transport, or logistics.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or working towards).
• Current forklift license (LF).
• Knowledge of Australian WHS laws.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Experience with LMS or digital WHS platforms.
• Safety Lead Auditor and Investigator qualifications.
