Job summary

Association for Competitive Technology (ACT) in Washington, DC, is seeking a policy advocate to develop and execute state-level advocacy strategies on privacy, antitrust, AI, digital health, and cybersecurity. You will draft letters, testimonies, and filings while representing ACT at roundtables, hearings, and conferences.

The role requires strong research and writing skills, familiarity with government processes, and the ability to travel and build relationships with policymakers and industry

Qualifications

• Strong research and writing skills evident in policy materials.
• Familiarity with state legislative, enforcement, and administrative processes.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication.

• Knowledge of technology policy issues and impact on small businesses.
• Self-starter who can manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders and public officials.
• Active relationships with state officials are a plus.
• JD or advanced degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute advocacy strategies on policy issues such as privacy, antitrust, cybersecurity, and digital health.
• Draft policy materials: letters, testimonies, talking points, and filings for state engagements.
• Travel regularly to state capitals and industry gatherings to build relationships with policymakers.
• Collaborate with coalitions, member companies, and external advocates to advance policy objectives.
• Monitor evolving state legislative trends and keep advocacy timely and impactful.
