Job summary

Association for Competitive Technology (ACT) in Washington, DC, is seeking a policy advocate who thrives at the intersection of technology and policy. You’ll develop and execute advocacy strategies on privacy, antitrust, digital health, kids’ safety, and cybersecurity while drafting compelling policy materials for state-level engagements.

You’ll travel to state capitals, represent ACT at roundtables and hearings, and collaborate with member companies and external partners to advance shared

Qualifications

• Strong research and writing skills to produce reliable content.
• Familiarity with state legislative, enforcement, and administrative processes.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Knowledge of technology policy issues and their impact on small businesses.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and public officials.
• Active relationships with state officials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for innovation by developing advocacy strategies.
• Draft policy materials like letters, testimonies, talking points, and filings.
• Represent ACT at state capitals and events to build relationships with policymakers.
• Collaborate with coalitions and member companies to advance policy objectives.
• Monitor state legislative trends and adapt advocacy efforts.
