Job summary

SC Johnson seeks a State Tax Manager to lead the state and local income and franchise tax function across the company and U.S. subsidiaries. You will ensure compliance while identifying planning opportunities, advising senior leaders, and driving process improvements with technology and automation.

You’ll collaborate with Tax, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, and Finance teams to translate evolving state tax requirements into actionable recommendations and strengthen controls across the function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Master’s/advanced degree in Tax, Accounting, or a Juris Doctor (J.D.) or CPA.
• 7+ years of state income tax or relevant experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead state and local income and franchise tax returns, estimates, extensions, and amended returns.
• Monitor filings and prepare tax provisions including ASC 740 support.
• Provide state tax planning and advisory support for restructurings and M&A.
• Manage state tax audits, notices, and controversy matters.
• Collaborate with Tax, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, and Finance teams.
