Job summary

Communities In Schools (CIS) is seeking a Principal, State Strategy to translate grant requirements into actionable plans and drive execution across state portfolios.

With a high degree of autonomy, this role leads implementation systems, budgets, and resources, coordinates statewide strategy convenings, and monitors progress to strengthen organizational effectiveness and outcomes for students nationwide.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of progressive experience in organizational development, network management, nonprofit leadership, or related field.
• Experience leading complex initiatives and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Experience with affiliate, federated, or distributed organizations at national or regional networks.
• Experience scaling programs focused on integrated student support services or school-improvement initiatives is preferred.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit operations, governance, fundraising, and performance measurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of assigned state strategy portfolios.
• Manage implementation systems, dashboards, reporting mechanisms, templates, and knowledge management processes.
• Manage implementation budgets and resources, including consultants and procurement.
• Develop implementation resources and coordinate state strategy convenings.
• Monitor organizational performance and support continuous improvement.
