State Reporting Manager – Staff Reporting

Position Overview

The Staff State Reporting Manager is responsible for leading the design and execution of the staff state reporting program across four states at IDEA Public Schools. The Manager ensures the accuracy and integrity of staff data elements within Tyler Munis ERP across all states IDEA operates in. They will design, implement, and improve processes, systems, and internal reporting to empower stakeholders to own state reporting data elements. The Staff State Reporting Manager reports to the Director of State Reporting.

Location: This is a full-time position with remote or in-person options based in Texas, with some travel within Texas and other IDEA regions such as Florida and Ohio. Preference is given to candidates residing in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or those willing to relocate.

Essential Duties

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

  1. Design and implement a reporting program to ensure 100% staff data accuracy and on-time submission as per state reporting agencies.
  2. Collaborate with Directors of State Reporting, Business Information Systems, and Employee Information Systems to update staff data structures, easing reporting burdens.
  3. Lead discovery of staff reporting requirements across states and proposed expansions, reviewing documentation, attending meetings, and partnering with legal counsel.
  4. Work with stakeholders across HR, Payroll, Financial Planning, and others to review and improve data integrity processes and tools.
  5. Develop and maintain documentation aligned with current state reporting regulations across all states IDEA operates in.
  6. Maintain and execute data submissions for PEIMS (TX), PEP (LA), MIS (FL), EMIS (OH), including identifiers, payroll, staff responsibilities, and other required data.
  7. Serve as an internal expert for applications supporting state reporting, such as Tyler Munis, Frontline, Cornerstone, TSDS, and DQ2.
  8. Produce and maintain state staff unique identifiers for all states.
  9. Review and improve reporting processes, addressing inefficiencies.
  10. Prepare and submit reports and data timely and accurately.
  11. Create data imports from agencies like TEA, LDOE, FLDOE, and Ohio reporting entities.
  12. Respond to inquiries from internal and external partners, resolving staff reporting issues professionally.
  13. Collaborate with various departments to ensure reporting efficiency and effectiveness.

Drive 100% data integrity of state reportable staff information by developing tools, improving processes, and increasing visibility.

  1. Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for staff reportable data, providing visual insights.
  2. Pursue automation of reporting and dashboards to enhance visibility and compliance.
  3. Design and implement an audit program to assess compliance and organizational risk.
  4. Work with leadership to understand reporting needs and deliver relevant reports and data.
  5. Ensure dashboards are user-friendly and accessible, continuously improving them.

Develop, maintain, and review documentation and project management tools to ensure business continuity.

  1. Organize and implement projects related to staff reporting, ensuring documentation accessibility.
  2. Engage stakeholders through quality documentation and project charters.
  3. Create and maintain a centralized repository of all reporting documentation.
  4. Develop and execute project plans, including timelines and responsibilities.
  5. Monitor progress, providing updates and status reports.
  6. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders involved in reporting processes.

Provide excellent customer service.

  1. Communicate with staff, leaders, and external agencies to exchange information and resolve issues.
  2. Promote a culture of analytics and accountability to identify gaps and support interventions.
  3. Support leaders through office hours and townhalls to address questions and improve data processes.

What You Bring

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management, reporting, and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Tyler Munis, Power BI, and other analysis tools.

Knowledge And Skills

What We Offer

Compensation & Benefits: Salaries typically range from $74,700 to $87,100, depending on experience and qualifications, aligned with internal equity. The role is eligible for performance pay based on organizational goals.
