State Reporting Manager – Staff Reporting

Position Overview

The Staff State Reporting Manager is responsible for leading the design and execution of the staff state reporting program across four states at IDEA Public Schools. The Manager ensures the accuracy and integrity of staff data within Tyler Munis ERP across all states IDEA operates in. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and improving processes, systems, and internal reporting to empower stakeholders in managing state reporting data. The Manager reports to the Director of State Reporting.

Location

This is a full-time position with remote or in-person options based in Texas, with some travel expected within Texas and other IDEA regions such as Florida and Ohio. Preference is given to candidates residing in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or those willing to relocate.

Essential Duties

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

• Design and implement a reporting program to ensure 100% staff data accuracy and timely submission to all state reporting agencies.
• Collaborate with various departments to design and update staff data structures, easing reporting burdens.
• Lead the discovery of staff reporting requirements across states, reviewing documentation, attending meetings, and partnering with legal counsel.
• Work with stakeholders to review and improve data processes, procedures, and tools for data integrity.
• Maintain documentation aligned with current state reporting regulations across all states.
• Manage data elements and submissions for PEIMS (TX), PEP (LA), MIS (FL), EMIS (OH), including identifiers and staff records.
• Serve as an expert for internal and external applications supporting state reporting, such as Tyler Munis, Frontline, Cornerstone, TSDS, and DQ2.
• Produce and maintain state staff unique identifiers as needed.
• Review and improve reporting processes, addressing inefficiencies.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports and data to relevant entities.
• Create data imports from agencies like TEA, Louisiana LDOE, FLDOE, and Ohio EMIS.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve staff reporting issues professionally.
• Collaborate with related departments to ensure efficient reporting processes.

Drive 100% Data Integrity

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for staff reportable data, providing visual insights.
• Automate reporting and dashboarding to enhance visibility and compliance.
• Design and implement an audit program to assess compliance and identify risks.
• Work with leadership to generate relevant reports and data visualizations.
• Maintain user-friendly dashboards accessible to stakeholders.
• Continuously improve dashboards with new data and features.

Documentation and Project Management

• Organize and implement projects related to staff reporting, ensuring documentation is accessible.
• Engage stakeholders through quality documentation and project charters.
• Create and maintain a repository for all reporting documentation.
• Develop and execute project plans with timelines and responsibilities.
• Monitor progress and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively with all involved parties.

Customer Service

• Communicate with staff, leaders, and outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issues.
• Promote a culture of analytics and accountability to identify gaps and interventions.
• Support leaders through office hours and townhalls, addressing questions and pain points to improve data operations.

What You Bring

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
• 5+ years experience in data management, reporting, and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of Tyler Munis, Power BI, and other analysis tools.

Compensation & Benefits

Salaries typically range from $74,700 to $87,100, based on experience and qualifications, with performance pay eligibility. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, parenting benefits, flexible spending, vacation, bonuses, professional development, and a 403(b) plan.
