Job summary

Office of the NYS Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli is seeking State Program Examiners at various levels. The role involves evaluating systems for compliance, assessing program efficiency, and ensuring funds are used properly.

You will prepare audit work papers, draft preliminary findings, and participate in entrance and exit conferences. Salary is commensurate with trainee or full performance levels, with telecommuting options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in accounting, business admin, computer science or related IT field.
• One year of professional accounting/auditing experience required for Trainee 2.
• Masters/doctorate in relevant fields also acceptable for higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate systems and procedures for compliance with laws, rules, regulations and contract terms.
• Assess efficiency and effectiveness of programs and proper use of funds.
• Prepare audit work papers and preliminary findings; discuss with auditees; participate in exit/entrance conferences.
