Job summary

The State of Minnesota is hiring at Rochester TC-MAPE for an events coordination role. The position emphasizes managing a wide range of events, proper facility procedures, strong client communication, and compliance with applicable laws and contracts.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in event management, proficiency with EMS reservations software, and strong skills in Microsoft and Adobe suites, along with excellent organization and collaboration across diverse groups.

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in event management or related field.
  • Working knowledge of facility management procedures including planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of a wide variety of events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, agreements, and contracts in event planning and marketing sufficient to maintain event compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience and knowledge with EMS reservations software including configuration and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs, Adobe Suite programs, and event scheduling software.
  • Ability to set-up and takedown equipment for events, including the moving of tables, chairs, event staging, and sound systems.
  • Experience in working with a diverse group of students, staff, and community members.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate a wide variety of events from start to finish.
  • Manage facilities procedures for event setup and execution.
  • Communicate with clients and vendors clearly and professionally.
  • Ensure event compliance with laws, rules, and contracts.
