Job summary

La Petite Academy in Columbia, SC is seeking an energetic Lead Pre-K Teacher to plan, assess and instruct based on each child's needs and program requirements. You will lead classroom management, develop engaging lessons, and mentor fellow teachers.

The role emphasizes building strong relationships with families, meeting state licensing requirements, and advancing early childhood education. You’ll work in a supportive, caring environment that values growth and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Studies or related degree.
• Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans.
• Ability to meet state requirements for education and childcare center requirements.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Responsibilities

• Create fun, interactive learning experiences while mentoring fellow Teachers.
• Care for the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the preschool children in your class.
• Lead classroom management and curriculum implementation, plus be an expert on licensing guidelines and Pre-K program requirements.
• Communicate with enrolled and prospective families to promote achievement for the child and to support your center’s success.

The State Pre-K Lead Teacher is responsible for all aspects of planning, assessing and instructing based on the needs of each child, and the requirements of the program. We want change makers who never stop being curious, inventive, and open-hearted to prepare children for Kindergarten and beyond.

As a Lead Pre-K Teacher, you’ll:

• Create! Develop fun, interactive learning experiences while mentoring fellow Teachers.
