Job summary

The Pew Charitable Trusts is seeking an Officer, State Policy, Safer Chemicals Project, to advance state-level efforts aimed at reducing exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals. This role coordinates with policy teams, builds partnerships, and leads stakeholder engagement to promote state rules and regulatory implementation.

Located in Washington, D.C., the officer supports a hybrid work model with in-office core days and telework flexibility, while guiding campaigns and policy adoption

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degrees preferred (JD/MPP).
• Minimum eight years of applicable policy or rulemaking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of state policy and environmental health regulation is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken communication; ability to inform and influence diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement state-level campaign strategies and technical assistance.
• Lead execution of state strategy across diverse states with varying politics and economies.
• Cultivate knowledge of state policy discussions, regulatory changes, and related practices.
• Draft public comments and track policy proposals in relevant states.
• Coordinate with contracted partners to ensure timely deliverables and budget adherence.
• Advance Pew’s federal policy workstream to align state and federal efforts.
