Job summary

Pew Charitable Trusts, based in Washington, DC, seeks a Senior Associate, State Policy, Substance Use Prevention and Treatment Initiative. The role provides project management and strategic guidance for state technical assistance efforts, including policy analysis, stakeholder meetings, and evidence-based recommendations to expand access to medications for opioid use disorder.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Generally, four years of applicable experience.
• Experience in policy or health-related discipline is required.
• Experience in substance use disorders or related research or health care policy area preferred.
• Experience writing and editing written materials for internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead state policy engagements that inform state legislation and regulation.
• Develop and coordinate policy scans, political assessments, behavioral health research, and state advocacy efforts.
• Represent Pew in state advocacy activities, including meetings with policymakers and testimony.
• Develop advocacy materials with project leadership and subject matter experts.
• Plan and implement stakeholder meetings, webinars, and events to gather insights and advance policy objectives.
• Provide policymakers with analyses of treatment-system performance and access disparities.
• Collaborate with Pew staff and other departments to support state policy engagements.
