Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing JD and/or LLM in Taxation, or equivalent program.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science or data and analytics preferred.
• Strong in technical aptitude, business acumen, critical thinking and agility skills, with a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Assist internal team members in tax planning for businesses, including identifying tax savings opportunities (income/franchise, sales/use) that arise from legal entity changes.
• Help analyze the state and local tax ramifications of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions or assisting clients with incentives and credits.
• Stay current on state legislative, judicial and administrative developments.
• Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax issues including compliance, advising, planning and controversies.
• Assist in addressing notices from state tax authorities; research and draft memoranda related to compliance issues.
• Build capabilities in technologies like AI, Alteryx, Power BI for client service delivery.
