Job summary

Amazon's Global Tax Services Team is seeking a Data Analyst focused on State and Local Tax compliance to translate tax data into actionable insights and scalable solutions across the United States.

You will partner with tax, business, and engineering teams to define requirements, build metrics, and deliver data-driven improvements that enhance tax reporting, accuracy, and efficiency from Seattle to nationwide.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
• 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.
• Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of tax reporting data across multiple jurisdictions, identifying data quality issues and recommending solutions to improve accuracy and reliability
• Design and contribute to the implementation of scalable tax technology solutions that enhance our reporting and compliance capabilities
• Partner with tax and business teams to understand process challenges, then translate those needs into functional requirements for technical development and system improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including tax specialists, business partners, and engineers to deliver integrated solutions that drive efficiency
• Develop and maintain metrics that measure the impact and value of tax data initiatives, providing visibility into process improvements and system performance
