Progressive regonal CPA firm seeks an Audit Director specializing in State and Local Government. Hybrid work setup with relocation assistance. Fast track to partnership and strong staff development are highlighted. The Director liaises among Partners, clients, and staff, guiding engagements and growth opportunities.

The role requires extensive public accounting experience, CPA license, and ability to travel for client and office locations. Leadership and SME in government audits are essential.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years of public accounting experience.
• Minimum 2 years in a senior manager role.
• Extensive experience auditing state and local governments.
• CPA license current and valid.
• Willingness to travel to client and firm locations.
• Experience with GAGAS/Yellow Book, GAAS, and Uniform Guidance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains contact with clients and builds relationships.
• Lead engagements or report to engagement partner as required.
• Sign attest opinions as engagement partner when assigned.
• Oversee all phases of engagements and ensure compliance with frameworks.
• Identify issues and propose solutions with partner input.
• Coordinate staffing and scheduling of engagements.
• Serve as SME for government sector.
• Ensure billing and collections follow firm policy.
• Recruit staff and interview Assurance candidates.
• Develop new business and client networks.
