Job summary

Greater Springfield Senior Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time elder services specialist to help clients maintain independence. You will assess needs, develop service plans and goals, and conduct home visits to seniors while coordinating with community social services agencies.

Strong writing and record-keeping skills are essential, as is sensitivity to elder needs. A BA/BS in human/social services is required; an MA in Social Work is desirable, and a valid driver’s license is essential for

• MA Social Work license is desirable.
• Must have valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation and good driving history.
• Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs.

Responsibilities

• Assist elderly clients in developing and maintaining maximum independent living.
• Assess and develop service plans and goals.
• Perform home visits to elders and engage with community social services agencies.
• Maintain precise records and write clearly.
• Social work experience and knowledge of social services are preferred.
• Sensitivity to the needs of elders is essential.

Full-time position to assist elderly clients in developing and maintaining maximum independent living. Will be responsible for the assessment and development of service plans and goals. Position requires home visits to elders, knowledge of and extensive contact with community social services agencies, precise record keeping and writing skills. Social work experience and knowledge of social services preferred. Sensitivity to the needs of elders is essential.
