Job summary

CAI seeks a Director, Business Development - State Government to lead growth strategy and capture across its State Government division. The role reports to the VP, Public Sector and focuses on pursuing state agency opportunities, higher education, and related public sector clients.

The candidate will drive market analysis, pipeline development, client engagement, and proposal leadership through award, with pre-sales driving outreach and meetings to shape RFPs and CAI offerings.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in State Government professional services consulting, business development, capture, and proposals.
• Strong knowledge of state procurement, NASPO and Sourcewell contracts.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional bid teams under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead growth strategy across the State Government portfolio and pursue new agencies.
• Direct pre-RFP activities, capture planning, and proposal leadership with senior teams.
• Develop account maps and stakeholder engagement plans for priority pursuits.
• Coordinate with marketing and subcontractors to shape proposals and pricing.
