Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Four years experience in a state government relations or state legislative work.
• More than 2 years experience in operational management of a government relations program or experience in health care issue advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operational conduct of CAP’s state affairs advocacy program and advocacy execution.
• Serve as a SME on select public policy issues and CAP’s state advocacy program.
• Manage and conduct state legislative and issue research, state law research, and state legislative tracking.
• Manage relationships with designated state stakeholders to support CAP’s state advocacy program.
• Maintain lobbying contracts, coordination of payment and CAP corporate compliance with lobbying laws.
• Prepare correspondence and memoranda in support of state affairs program.
• Provide ongoing sharing of public policy information with state pathology societies.
• Coordinate with CAP State Pathology Society Relations Program to ensure strategic alliances.
• Provide strategic direction for grassroots operations, including membership mobilization for state and federal advocacy positions.
• Advise Directors on policy and tactical matters related to state advocacy.
