Job summary

Dow Inc. in Austin, TX, seeks a State Government Affairs Director to lead integrated government affairs and advocacy across the state.

You will identify opportunities, influence policy, and protect the company’s license to operate while advancing Dow’s economic growth and sustainability goals. You will build relationships with governors, legislators, and regulators, translate complex policy issues into strategic actions, and advise senior leaders on regulatory risk and opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field or equivalent military experience.
• 10+ years in public policy or government advocacy.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute state government affairs strategies aligned with Dow's priorities.
• Build relationships with governors, legislators, economic development officials, and other stakeholders.
• Advise business and site leaders on legislative, regulatory developments; prepare briefs.
• Represent Dow before state legislatures, executive agencies, and regulatory authorities.
• Develop advocacy strategies on policy issues impacting manufacturing and the sector.
• Coordinate advocacy across sites, trade associations, NGOs, and external consultants.
• Advance policy priorities and shape coalition advocacy efforts.
• Support Dow's political engagement activities and stakeholder programs.
