Job summary

State of Florida seeks an OPS Government Analyst I in the State Fire Marshal division in Tallahassee. This is a 29-hour-per-week, temp position requiring a high school diploma and solid MS Office skills to support the Director’s Office with administrative and logistical tasks.

Responsibilities include preparing correspondence and reports, maintaining databases, and coordinating monthly and annual reports. Must communicate effectively and handle public interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of secretarial or office clerical work experience.
• Experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of effective communication principles.
• Ability to type letters and memos in proper format.
• Ability to organize files and records.
• Good spelling, punctuation and grammar.
• Ability to work with the public in a courteous manner.
• Ability to operate general office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director’s Office staff with administrative and logistical support.
• Prioritize and prepare general correspondence, memorandums and reports.
• Coordinate monthly and annual reports of section functions and activities.
• Maintain databases, spreadsheets and records.
• Format and proofread internal and external correspondence.
• Maintain appointment calendars and multi-line telephone experience; MS Office
