Job summary

Delaware Office of Auditor of Accounts is recruiting for the State Auditor I position in Dover, DE. This is the first level of professional auditing work supporting financial and performance audits and investigations.

The role assists with examinations, tests and reports related to entities with state or federal funding, and collaborates on special projects as directed by the State Auditor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Science, Business, Technology or related field.
• Six months experience in narrative report writing.
• Six months experience in conducting interviews to obtain facts, gather evidence, and identify courses of action.
• Six months’ experience in conducting audits in accordance with professional auditing standards.

Responsibilities

• Documents, tests, reviews and evaluates management controls and operating procedures.
• Reviews, analyzes, interprets, and reports upon management controls and operating procedures as part of audits and investigations.
• Researches applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards for engagements and projects.
• Prepares work papers, analysis summaries, findings/recommendations, correspondence and engagement reports.
• Evaluates overall accuracy of management controls and operating procedures.
