The Delaware State Auditor serves Delawareans by providing independent objective oversight of the state government’s use of taxpayer dollars with the goal of deterring fraud, waste and abuse through unbiased assessments, including the use of various audits, special reports, and investigations of financial operations designed to ensure statutory compliance while enhancing governmental economy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
The State Auditor I’s role is to support the mission of the office by assisting with financial as well as performance audits, examinations, and agreed upon procedures related to entities or agencies within the State with State or Federal funding. And assisting with investigations or special projects as determined by the State Auditor.
Upon satisfactory completion of department promotional standards and job requirements, employees may be eligible to be promoted to the next level.

As a condition of hire, you must possess a valid Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) as designated by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners; OR acquire a CFE within twelve months of hire. Failure to obtain a CFE within this timeframe may result in termination of employment.
