Job summary

Permit Power is seeking a seasoned Advocacy Director to lead state campaigns advancing solar and storage policy. You will coordinate multi-state advocacy, work with partners, lobbyists, and firms, and report to the Chief of Advocacy.

The role focuses on driving legislation, coalition building, and translating wins into on‑the‑ground progress. You’ll shape strategy, guide campaigns in 4–5 states, and help with fundraising.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience leading multi-state campaigns.
• Experience managing government relations and consultants.
• Ability to assess external landscape and shape strategy.
• Familiarity with permitting reform, utility policy, and distributed generation.

Responsibilities

• Pass state legislation: lead campaigns, set strategy, manage budgets.
• Lead relationships with local partners, lobbyists and firms.
• Own long-term campaign strategy and landscape analysis.
• Translate wins into on‑the‑ground progress with state/local authorities.
• Contribute to national advocacy and fundraising efforts.
