Job summary

ERM seeks a Principal Technical Consultant, Safety (Program Lead) to guide health, safety, and environmental performance during commissioning, startup, and readiness for a major Indiana manufacturing operation. You will partner with client leadership, engineering teams, startup groups, and operations staff to drive safe startup execution and establish a culture of safety excellence.

Lead a team of HSE professionals, oversee LOTO/SWP programs, risk management, and audits while shaping startup

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
6-8 years (10-15 years preferred) of EHS experience.
Experience leading or mentoring EHS professionals, contractors, or project teams.
Experience with Lockout/Tagout programs, Incident investigations, Permit-to-work systems, Risk assessments, and JHAs/JSAs.
Ability to work full-time onsite in Lebanon, Indiana.
Driver's License required; frequent travel to client locations.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership for the onsite C&Q HSE team.
Establish consistent HSE practices across startup areas.
Mentor Node Leads and HSE professionals.
Interface with client startup leadership and project stakeholders.
Lead coordination meetings and drive accountability for HSE deliverables.
Support safe commissioning, qualification, and startup of manufacturing systems.
Participate in startup planning, readiness reviews, and operations transition.
Identify startup risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Provide field presence during critical startup evolutions.
