Job summary

Smardt is seeking a Plant Manager to lead the startup of our Phoenix manufacturing facility and to establish the plant organization from the ground up. You will implement world-class manufacturing practices, recruit and train staff, and drive Lean and CI programs across production, maintenance, and quality functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related technical field (Master's preferred).
• Proven Greenfield/Brownfield and plant startup experience; HVAC/metal fabrication/complex assembly background.
• 10+ years in manufacturing operations with 5+ years in a leadership role as Plant Manager or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead site startup and commissioning of the Phoenix manufacturing facility.
• Define facility layout, equipment requirements, and production line setup.
• Oversee construction, utilities, and EHS readiness to ensure manufacturability.
• Develop recruitment plan for all plant functions.
• Establish production flow, safety standards, and shopfloor control.
• Collaborate with Corporate Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to Smardt global standards.
• Drive ERP installation and validation (NAV/Business Central or equivalent).
• Ensure regulatory compliance and initial budget/headcount planning.
