Job summary

HTI - Human Technologies, Inc. in Spartanburg, SC is partnering with a global paper packaging manufacturer to hire a Production Manager for a startup facility.

The role leads 35+ hourly staff across multiple shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality operations. The position is direct-hire, full‑time, with a base salary of $110,000 to $125,000 per year plus up to $10,000 bonus, relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years as Production Manager or Supervisor with oversight of 50+ hourly employees on multiple shifts.
• Total manufacturing production experience of 8+ years.
• Experience in paper/paperboard packaging or packaging manufacturing.
• Startup plant experience with launching lines or expansion projects.
• ISO 9001 and/or 14001 experience.
• GMP environment experience for FDA-regulated packaging.
• Food safety/SQF, BRC, AIB and/or HACCP experience.
• Safety-first mindset and strong leadership.
• Strong communication and employee development abilities.
• Solid MS Office and ERP skills.
• Experience in CAPEX/machinery installation budgets and project management.
• KPI monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Experience coordinating maintenance functions and CMMS.
• Ability to drive reliability and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage Production Team Leads and Maintenance Team Lead/Planner for ~35+ hourly staff to start.
• Collaborate with Plant Manager, Engineering, Quality, Logistics and Safety on improvements.
• Develop and implement production processes to optimize efficiency.
• Monitor KPIs and drive Manufacturing Excellence initiatives.
• Coordinate with Quality to ensure packaging safety and specs.
• Support labor planning to meet schedules.
• Lead CAPEX project budgets and contractor management.
• Build a safety-first culture and ensure ISO/GMP compliance.
