Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to help startups ideate, develop, and scale AI applications on our API platform. You will guide customers from ideation to production, sharing practical use cases and best practices while collaborating with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Product teams.

The role is based in SF or NY with a hybrid work model (3 days in office) and relocation assistance for new hires.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a software/ML engineer, preferably in startups.

Responsibilities

• Partner with startup customers to build novel applications on our API.
• Provide proactive guidance to maximize business impact and accelerate development.
• Prototype and test use cases with customers and share knowledge across teams.
• Deliver feedback to Product and Research teams to improve APIs and tooling.
• Build relationships within the startup ecosystem and with the Sales team to drive production deployments.
