Spring Run Golf Club is seeking a Starter/Ranger to provide an exceptional golf experience by ensuring timely play, maintaining pace, and upholding etiquette. You will deliver outstanding member service as a visible ambassador, assisting the Golf Professional Staff in daily course operations.

Overview

The Starter/Ranger is responsible for providing an exceptional golf experience by ensuring timely play, maintaining pace of play, promoting proper golf etiquette, and delivering outstanding customer service to members and guests. As one of the Club's most visible team members, this position serves as an ambassador for Spring Run Golf Club by creating a welcoming atmosphere while supporting the Golf Professional Staff in the daily operation of the golf course.

The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to providing exceptional member service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Member & Guest Services
  • Welcome members and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Verify tee times and ensure groups begin play on schedule.
  • Communicate daily course conditions, cart rules, local rules, and pace of play expectations.
  • Answer member questions and assist with golf-related requests.
  • Represent Spring Run Golf Club in a positive and professional manner.
Starting & Pace of Play Operations
  • Coordinate first tee operations and maintain proper starting intervals.
  • Monitor pace of play throughout the golf course.
  • Communicate with groups that fall behind using approved Club procedures.
  • Record pace checkpoints and report issues to the Golf Professional Staff.
  • Assist with pairing golfers when necessary.
Course & Golf Operations
  • Enforce proper golf etiquette, including repairing ball marks, replacing divots, raking bunkers, and observing cart rules.
  • Assist members during weather delays or emergencies.
  • Support tournaments, leagues, outings, and daily golf operations.
  • Assist with golf cart staging, practice facility operations, signage, and other Golf Shop duties as assigned.
Experience Required
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service, golf course, hospitality, or country club experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of the game of golf preferred.
