Job summary

SpaceX invites a Power Electronics Engineer to join the Starship electrical hardware team in Hawthorne, CA. You will rapidly develop high-reliability electronics for rockets and spacecraft, drive design trades, and ensure robust power conversion and distribution in extreme conditions.

The role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering, hands-on PCB work, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines to push the boundaries of spaceflight technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline.
• 1+ years of experience designing, building, or testing circuit boards or other electronics.
• Master's degree is a plus for advanced design and analysis.
• Experience with power electronics in harsh environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop high-reliability electronics for rockets and spacecraft
• Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, and test
• Design, analyze, and test DC-DC power converters and power distribution products for harsh environments
• Work on electrical power system and sub-system level design trades and develop requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, manufacturability, and reliability
