Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer (Starship) to rapidly develop high-reliability electronics for rockets and spacecraft. You will drive trades, capture requirements, select components, prototype, bring up systems, and verify performance under harsh environments.

The role emphasizes circuit board design, switching power converters, and close collaboration with other teams to optimize reliability, manufacturability, and efficiency while contributing to SpaceX’s multi-planetary mission

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline.
• 1+ years of experience designing, building, or testing circuit boards or other electronics (research, internships and projects qualify).
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop high-reliability electronics for rockets and spacecraft.
• Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, and test.
• Design, analyze, and test DC-DC power converters and power distribution products for harsh environments.
• Work on electrical power system and sub-system level design trades and develop requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system efficiency, manufacturability, and reliability.
