Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Starship Engineer in Texas to develop and qualify high-rate manufacturing processes for propulsion, avionics, and welded structures. You will focus on design for manufacturing, implement poka-yoke systems, boost yield, and drive automation to minimize takt and cycle times.

You will collaborate with design teams, develop automated inspection, and manage transitions from development to production while pushing for simplified, efficient processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of manufacturing and process design experience.
• Experience with design for manufacturing and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Test and validate manufacturing processes for high-rate production.
• Design precision tooling to reduce assembly errors and cycle time.
• Automate processes to ensure repeatability on high-rate lines.
• Collaborate with design teams to influence flight design via DFM.
• Develop in-situ inspection techniques to increase yield and reduce cycle time.
• Manage transition of parts from development to production.
• Simplify requirements to optimize processes and cut overhead.
